Name of society: Catholic Youth Organization
The primary objective of CYON, is the spiritual development of youths through prayers, spiritual readings and participations in the sacramental apostolic missionary life of the church so as to achieve sound spiritual and moral excellence among youths.
To build Christian commitment in young people by providing a friendly and open atmosphere for youth to learn and serve in Christ name and develop Christian friendship and apply their faith in their daily lives

to all youths within the age bracket of 15 – 35 years
BRIEF HISTORY
Catholic youth organization Nigeria was founded in
1985 by late most Reverend Gabriel Ganaka and it was officially ratified in
1987 by the catholic Bishops conference of Nigeria. Membership of the
organization is open to all catholic and Catechumens between the ages of
fifteen (15) and thirty five (35) years.
